The training programs provided by Crisisplan focus on developing new skills and capabilities, as well as on improving existing ones. Practice is essential to any learning experience, in which our training programs are tailor-made per target group, characterized by its interactive nature. Our instruments are designed to teach you useful skills and help to improve your strategies. These highly interactive programs are specifically adapted to the needs of your team or organization. In addition to generic crisis management training, we offer specialised programs such as team cooperation, sense making, the use of scenarios, and communication.

To this end, Crisisplan developed an interactive media-simulator. The media simulator is a private and secured digital environment, in which news outlets, social media outlets and your own website are included. The media simulator is an excellent tool to learn how to interact with the media and how to communicate during a crisis

  • Chairing a crisis team

This training is meant for chairs of the strategic crisis team. They will be trained to understand the crisis management process leading towards an effective crisis management meeting. They are encouraged to use a comprehensive checklist throughout this process. In addition, they will learn how to effectively structure the dynamic of group meetings during these trainings.

Duration of the training: 3+ hours

  • Formulating a strategic information management

This training is meant for chairs of the strategic crisis team. They will be trained to understand the crisis management process leading towards an effective crisis management meeting. They are encouraged to use a comprehensive checklist throughout this process. In addition, they will learn how to effectively structure the dynamic of group meetings during these trainings.

  • Formulating a strategic decision-making agenda

This training is designed for strategic level advisors and information managers. They will be trained in applying the 10 crisis-families, allowing them to more quickly identify strategic decision points. This training will also touch upon how to formulate and organize strategically relevant advice.

  • Strategic crisis management

This training module is designed for strategic crisis teams and consists of three components:

  1. Introduction to strategic crisis management: What is strategic crisis management? What is the role of the strategic crisis team and what is expected of them? The focus-point of the introduction is to explain the strategic cycle, a method of strategic crisis management designed by CrisisPlan.
  2. Formulation of a strategic sitrep and a strategic decision-making agenda: participants will be given fragmented bits of information, of which they are to formulate a sitrep and an agenda for strategic decision-making. Ideally this will include advised courses of action per strategic decision. In the, this training will allow participants to understand how the implementation of their decisions will play out.
  3. Evaluation: what is the current state of the crisis organization? Are adjustments needed in the preparation for a crisis? What are the interests of the participants?
